Look, not to brad, but I’ve been DMing for a while.
I’m kinda a big deal. 😎
There isn’t much anymore that throws me for a loop.
But last year, I ran Mork Borg for the first time and it went so far off the rails we never got back again. 😂
Let me explain-
So in the core book is a sample adventure. The idea behind it is simple – the PCs have been arrested for blasphemy. They’re given a single out to avoid execution – go and retrieve the kings son, who has apparently been kidnapped.
And the adventure is supposed to start at the gate to the dungeon.
Had I done that, everything probably would have gone fine, not nooooo. I had to be extra. 🤣
I decided to start with the king’s advisor opening the jail cell and explaining their options. He was just going to lead them down the hall into a room with their belongings before we cut to the dungeon.
And the players decided they didn’t trust the guy any further than they could throw him. 🤣 While he was pontificating, they snuck off in the opposite direction.
I had absolutely nothing planned for this! But here’s the thing – that’s where Mork Borg really shines.
The book has so many rich and amazing random tables. It wasn’t hard to come up with some encounters and happenings in the king’s dungeon. And the players? They were none the wiser.
There was a lot I liked about the game before I even played it, but that session made me fall in love.
It made me want to create for Mork Borg. And I have been.
There will certainly be more coming, but our Mork Borg Pamphlet adventure, D/D/D/D, is available on the webstore. I have some special shipping rates on it so you can get it as cheap as possible.
Interested? You can find it here.
