The Grand Mithraeum
The Grand Mithraeum is the largest temple in all the elven lands. It is overseen by Felcenia, a true cleric, and is also often home to Eimrag, the Joyful and Drugal, Bringer of Wrath. The two are radiant dragon siblings and are viewed as gods by the common folk. It is rumored that artifacts from times past have been stowed away beneath the Grand Mithraeum for safekeeping from those who might question the elven religion. Those of the faith dismiss such nonsense as rumors from worshipers of the antiquated “Old Gods.” They want proof of their own beliefs so badly that they would fabricate lies.
Unlike other, smaller temples in the city, The Grand Mithraeum is a relatively new construction as the elves measure time. The elves already worshiped the radiant dragons at this point, so the temple had never been devoted to other gods. As such, the Mithraeum is full of iconography related to the Radiant Dragons.
Player Characters could be in the Mithraeum for any number of reasons. They may need help from the clergy, or they may be able to provide needed lore. Perhaps they need to contend with the Radiant Dragon gods directly, through official or unofficial means. In truth, there are catacombs beneath the temple that contain all manner of dangerous secrets. Getting to those dungeons could be a quest in and of itself.

The Front Stairs
The stairs of the Grand Mithraeum are wide, allowing large crowds of elves to enter the building for services. They are always attended by 6 Silverhelms, the religious soldiers who guard the holy grounds.
Stone Patio
This stone patio is also used as a stage for large events and proclamations. When even the Grand Mithraeum itself is too small to hold the crowds, the people will gather outside in it’s courtyard with the priests and royalty presiding from the stage.
Main Hall
This is the main hall of the Grand Mithraeum itself. The elves of Dane Caelen gather here for the services, sitting upon wooden pews to sing praise to the Radiant Dragons that reside above (in a very literal fashion.)
Balcony Stairs
These stairs lead to the balconies where nobles and royalty watch the services.

Balcony
These balconies overlook the main floor and the Pulpit from above. They are reserved for nobility and royalty, though there are no guards to enforce this, nor is it really a rule. It would be considered taboo in Elven society to ever ascend to the balconies in The Grand Mithraeum without being invited by those that already have leave to reside there.

Great Pyre
These great pyres are always lit, attended to by acolyte priests throughout the day. They will be allowed to die down to a small flicker during the summers, but are never allowed to extinguish. During the cold and dark winter months, they are heaped with wood, providing welcomed light and warmth.
Flanking the raised pulpit are four Silverhelms, with two more against the north wall to ensure unauthorized persons do not use the doors there. The rooms outside of the main hall are not considered public and persons must be accompanied by priests to travel there.

Pulpit
The Pulpit is reserved for Felencia and few other priests high in the order. The Silverhelms will actively stop any others from ascending the stairs, even royalty.

Dry Good Storage
This room holds grain stores and other dry goods for the Mithraeum. There are flour, oats, barley, lentils, nuts, and Freekeh.
Alcohol Storage
Six of these kegs contain watered table wine. Three of them contain stronger, ceremonial wine. Any creature that does not possess elf blood who partakes of a glass or more of the ceremonial wine must make a DC 15 Constitution Saving Throw. If they fail, they become unconscious for 1d100 minutes and suffer the poisoned condition until taking a long rest. If they roll under DC 18, they stay conscious, but still suffer the poisoned condition. If they roll above DC 18, they suffer neither condition.
East Stairs
These stairs lead up to the South East stairs on the second level.
Library
This is a small library, containing religious texts and scrolls. It contains nothing magical. This could be a good place to send PCs for lore or information. If they gain the support of the Mithraeum or get into the room by… other means… is up to them.
Meeting Room
This is a meeting room used by the clergy, though others are commonly brought there to discuss business with the Mithraeum.
West Stairs
These stairs connect to the Southeast stairs on the second level of The Grand Mithraeum. Use the arrow icon to navigate.
