The people of Drexuum have seen the most change in Dezeldenia. Many of the snake like dragons of the land call this area home, though they are not the only ones. This land contains many serpentine creatures, which are feared and revered in equal measure by the people that live here. It seems each settlement has it's own religion, worshipping it's own patron dragon or other creature.
The land of Nartlek rarely sees light. The dead twisted trees and ever present cloud cover block light from reaching the ground. It is a land of shadows where the worship of Braxult is absolute. No dragons can enter this land, something the natives take as a show of the Demon Goddess of Death's power.
Nartlek is also home to The Blood Tree, a huge sprawling dead tangle of branches that reaches far into the sky. Bodies are ritualistically nailed to the wood, the penetrating spikes causing a dark red sap to be produced.
Dezeldenia has a long history, stretching back to when demons walked the land. According to the Dezeldenians, they were the first people and their land was the first land. They were created by Braxult, the demon goddess of death, and many pay tribute to her still.
There are far from a unified people, however. Beliefs often change from village to village and at times from home to home. Some worship Braxult while others worship Drexath. There are also those that worship the animalistic snake like dragons of the land and still others that worship snakes themselves. Assigning values to a Dezeldenian rarely works, as they differ so greatly.
Arjin Tower, while respected and revered by the locals, does not issue commands.
The people of Rin'OSha are renowned over the land of Dezeldenia for their cavalry. Legions of these horse folk, wearing bone armor and wielding spears, run down those in their way. They are largely why the Mirlethians have never tried to conquer the entire land.
It is not just Mirlethians that need to fear, however. The Rin'Oshans believe they best serve Braxult by providing her with a steady stream of bodies. They often make forays into adjoining lands to collect tribute. The walls of Fahlu Keep are a ghastly display of those offered up to their dark god.
Beratosh is a broken land, bereft of many settlements due to centuries of strife with the Mirlethians. Those that do live here exist largely in nomadic tribes, moving from place to place and occasionally making forays over the river to take Mirlethian prisoners.
The exception to this is The Pens. It is a small fortified encampment ruled by a person known only as "The First Knife." The name of the fort refers to the amount of large communal cages in the fort, where vast amounts of Mirlethian prisoners live indefinitely. Those raiders who have made to attack The Pens have never returned to their homeland.
Braxenmire is the true land of the swamp with it's dominion extending over the Nagastine river. Akachi Jabari, known as God's Courageous Hand, has control of the fort she renamed as "The Taken,' managing to hold out against the endless siege laid by Mirlethia.
Toward the North End of the swamplands lies Arjin Tower, ruled by Kubu Mankoba. Kubu is said to be a necromancer who makes pacts with the dead. The locals leave tribute at it's doorstep in exchange for protection.
Finally, there are the lizard men. They live in scattered tribes throughout Braxenmire and will on occasion ally with the Dezeldenians, though they are just as likely to raid them. What they believe, none really know.
